The Harlem Hellfighter
On June 2, 1913, the U.S Army created a new African American regiment known as the Harlem Hellfighters. The Harlem Hellfighters were an African American infantry unit in WW1 and WW2 that spent more time in combat than any other American Unit. Despite their courage, sacrifice and dedication to their country, the Hellfighters returned home to face racism and segregation from their fellow countrymen. The United States Army recognized the bravery and sacrifice of the Hellfighters, and provided more jobs and advancement opportunities to African American soldiers
This website will tell you about the Harlem Hellfighters and how they made a huge impact on the United States winning WW1. They were provided improper equipment and a significant lack of necessary resources required to go into battle. As a result of their brave and heroic actions, many others lived through the war as well.
